Welcome to the Institute for Real Estate Studies at the Smeal College of Business. The Institute is unique at the Smeal College of Business in that it is a vital conduit for leading edge academic research and serves as the physical presence for real estate education at Penn State. The Institute for Real Estate Studies (IRES) is a privately sponsored research institution whose advisory board is made up of donors to the Institute. Established in 1985, IRES fosters discussion and research between academicians and business professionals in the area of real estate and provides a focal point for real estate education at Penn State.
